How we make money

Right now, we don't. The site is new and has no sponsors, advertisers or affiliate links.

Here's what we plan, so there are no surprises later:

• Sponsored local specialists. A local real-estate agent or team may pay a flat fee to be listed as the featured specialist for a city. Anything like that will be labeled Sponsored.
• Affiliate links for things like moving services or furniture. They'll be marked where they appear.
• Display advertising, once there's enough traffic to make it worthwhile.

What we won't do:

• Sell editorial coverage. Which buildings we write about, and what we say about them, doesn't depend on who pays.
• Take fees tied to your loan, insurance policy or purchase closing.
• Share your details with anyone without asking you first. See our privacy policy.
